PT-141 (Bremelanotide)

Description

PT-141, also known as Bremelanotide, is a synthetic melanocortin receptor agonist developed to enhance sexual desire and arousal through the central nervous system. Unlike medications that improve blood flow, PT-141 works in the brain by activating melanocortin receptors involved in sexual motivation and arousal. It is FDA-approved (as Vyleesi) for the treatment of acquired, generalized hypoactive sexual desire disorder (HSDD) in premenopausal women; other uses, including in men, are off-label.
